Third Eye Blind: Non Dairy Creamer, video and lyrics

Non-Dairy Creamer Official Music Video on youtube. Third eye blind has fallen off the planet for the past decade or so. However they definitely got my attention with their new track.

Lyrics

They call it KFC, cause it’s not really chicken

Hot cheetos for breakfast make a young student sicken
Did you ever think someone’s tricking you?

And the guy in the pulpit is a bigot and a liar
Some kid walks into my school and opens fire
Heard any good jokes lately cause we sure do need em
My punk band’s call operation Iraqi freedom

Chorus

What’s it going to be, are you real to me
Or are you non-dairy
Creamer

And new love is burning up in me
Cause one in four American girls has an STD
You can buy yourself some implants
But you can’t buy a soul,
What’s threat level orange
With your chest puffed out, what are you so afraid about
What are you so afraid about
What are you so afraid of
What are you so afraid of

Chorus

And two gay guys got married
And brought the family to its knees
How did they blow us to smithereens
Just a couple of queens
How did they do it, I’m telling you now
All marriage came to an end
And I found myself some culprits
It’s two young gay republicans
Young gay republicans

Chorus

“Some of them we murder, some we let go…”

Are you real to me?
Or are you non dairy... creamer?

Death Cab for Cutie | Grapevine Fires

This track has been one of my favorites since the album came out last year.  Hypnotizing video.

2008: Top Songs, Top Searches.

2008: Last.fm top 10 (top 10 songs played via itunes, not necessarily purchased):

1.  MGMT

Seems like a lot of Brooklyn and Britain covering the top 10.  I had not heard much of #4,6,7,8,9 prior to this top 10.  Bon Iver, Does it Offend You, Yeah?  and Fleet Foxes are groups I'll probably download and like to hear more from.  I already have been regularly listening to Santogold & MGMT pretty regularly.

Catching up on New Media Tonight:

Sampling 2 new albums: James Taylor Covers , and Ben Folds Way to Normal

Had one of those serendipitous moments just now.  I was talking to my brother on facebook chat (a student in ISU , normal, IL).  Ben Folds sings on my iTunes:

"Effing in the trailers in the back roads and the parking lots
of Effington ? Making my way to Normal, Illinois. "

Otherwise, I'm going to catch up on my Entourage later this week, the HBO series I have been missing since the writers strike.  Its pretty much a young male's version of Desperate Housewives.
