In Pursuit of Elegance [book]

I read In Pursuit of Elegance: Why the Best Ideas Have Something Missing by Matthew E. May last week while on Vacation.


It started slow, but the ideas captured my attention, and the theme came together nicely by the final chapter.  I continue to see the concepts throughout my daily life, including symmetry, seduction, subtraction, and sustainability.

DB's Medical Rants

I rediscovered DB's Medical Rants, a medical blog.

His posts seem more relevant to me at this this time in my training.

One quote on his sidebar stuck out to me specifically:

Less is More: Stan Shroeder

From a link I found via Jay Parkinson's blog,


Stan Shroeder writes what at first thought appears to be this year's Web 2.0 article:

Read the whole thing, it crystallizes in my mind why google, twitter, and one could extrapolate the iPhone are so appealing.
